Today is World Environment Day. We’re asking you to support Cities4Forests. Post an image with forests and trees. Share your photo on Instagram or Facebook, using #ForestChallenge, or the online form until 15 June 2020. Cities4Forests commits to planting up to 2,000 mangroves trees in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The planting of five species of mangroves in this location helps to restore local biodiversity and to protect the coastlines from flooding and the rising sea levels. All photos need to be submitted via a public post on Instagram or Facebook – using #ForestChallenge – or the online form until 15 June 2020. https://cities4forests.com/forest-challenge/

For us, Covid-19 has brought the degree of multinational communications and collaboration to an even higher level than before. Colleagues from all over the KAEFER world share their ideas and best practices on how to inform everyone at KAEFER and organise all the new challenges we’re faced with every day. We’re in this together!
KAEFER's interior outfitting team was awarded with a trophy for the best performance in the category "Acoustic Systems" at the big Rigips Trophy competition in Berlin. They received the fantastic price for the revitalisation of a former industrial hall in Berlin into a location for film, music and sound productions. The jury was impressed by the extremely detailed preliminary planning as well as the elaborate implementation of a sound-absorbing wall construction. A great achievement - congratulations to everyone involved!
The KAEFER location in Tarnów, Poland received the award “Young worker friendly employer”. The local competition was ausgerufen by the Małopolska district, the Employment Office and the Board of Education of Kraków. The efforts in the area of vocational training and the employment of young personnel are crucial and an important element of KAEFERs activities in Poland. We’re truely happy that our colleagues are being appreciated for their dedication and commitment in training the next generation of insulators.
“…and action!” The new KAEFER image film premieres today. Colleagues in numerous KAEFER offices came together to watch the new film – popcorn of course was not to be missing – and celebrated the first KAEFER film with employees starring both in front of the camera and behind the microphone. A special thanks goes out to all our “film stars” in Brazil, France, Germany, the Middle East, Norway, Poland and South Africa. Enjoy watching!
It's this time of year - and like every year, KAEFER headquarters in Bremen is turned into a giant advent calendar. Each day, local charities are supported with a donation. Today, for example, it's "Trauerland" (a centre for mourning children and adolescents), "the FabLab" (a high-tech workshop to examine digital media and manufacturing technologies) and "Bremer Tafel" (a association collecting surplus food and distribute it to needy citizens).
Our amazing team from South Africa, working at Medupi Power Station, has been awarded with the Contractor Safety Award by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa for 10 million LTI free scaffolding man-hours. KAEFER joined the project in 2009 supplying, erecting and dismantling scaffolds. In 2014, KAEFER was also employed to do insulation works. KAEFER was subsequently awarded more work and became the largest insulation contractor on site. Congratulations to everyone involved!
What do our people and clients count on? Why is a shipbuilding project like a giant Tetris game? How does it feel like to work in ropes on a 120m-high crane? All these questions are being answered in the new K-WERT company magazine. Browse through interesting reads from projects & people around the world.
We couldn’t be any prouder of our young KAEFER professionals: In the summer of this year, Thomas Oldsen completed his training as Bremen's best industrial insulator after a shortened training period of two instead of three years.
